In September 2007, Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) received a
five-year, Clinical and Translational Science Award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). One aim of this award is to promote clinical research training among predoctoral allied healthcare students, create an efficient entry for interested students into a variety of clinical research careers and allow flexibility to develop novel and unique programs.
To this end, Washington University is offering the Predoctoral Program to students in medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, biomedical engineering, social work, pharmacy, audiology and communication sciences, or other allied health profession who wish to pursue academic careers in clinical research.

"I've really enjoyed working with my mentor this year. He's very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and I've learned a lot about research methods and how to use new discoveries to impact patient care ." - Intensive scholar 2007
